Lettering today, started with some calligraphy I had missed (was meant to be with Rosella but will have to catch up when she’s in next week). Only a couple of letters I’m remotely happy with, my excuse is I didn’t have time to warmup as I’m trying to catch up so much.

Quickly moved onto drawing the lower case letters. The work over summer and the lessons with Ieuan had definitely helped but I was still not quite getting a consistent curve or flow between the letters.

After lunch (and picking up some automatic pens) I started the carvings, happy with the craft but it emphasises the mistakes I make in the drawing, shows how much work my drawing needs.

After 4:30 I moved onto some very small letter that Tom has set out for our 2nd term project. I have been planning to carve ‘On Shoulders of Giants We Stand’ for a long time so thought it was as good a time as any to start this.
