Stiff Leaf Cap

Good to be back.

Top left of the cap, in my rush to start carving, I copied the restored section which left the masonry curve far too much compared to the plaster.

Made several mistakes today, this being the worst. Was too caught up listening to music rather than the stone.

Push the right hand side of the leafs in as they looked too flat.

I should look to start ‘finishing’ each section now as nothing is going to move. Must keep my chisels and pencils sharp and carve straight to the line (save time, work to the line). I must look to ‘iron out creases’ of the leafs and make every line work and flow. Tom said the word of the day (or week for me) is ‘finesse’. Must remember this and slow down.
