Stiff Leaf Cap

Almost first thing the same piece popped off so used proper stone glue this time and will do a lime mortar repair when I get the chance.

Before I scrapped off the glue.

Other than that it went well, finishing the surfaces of the leafs, on the right side it’s very soft and crumbly so hard to get a ‘sharp’ edge but having an extra sharp chisel helps. So spending most of today sharpening chisels. Feels like I’m a woodworker.

Trying to get that sharp edge.

No final photos today will update this asap.

Lettering – Ruskin House

While waiting for glue to go off I worked on the Ruskin House inscription. (will add photos tomorrow too)

Managed to start and finish the ‘Ruskin House’ part in a few hours, I had already done the first draft which helped a lot. But apart from a couple of adjustments that probably need making, I’m fairly happy with the feel of it.

I’m constant torn between my hatred for all that is art and my egotistical desire to be an artist.
