Drapery

Day four on drapery, started out be resolving the drawing. Then had a talk mid morning with Nina, focused on the sculpting techniques of drapery in clay. The use of straight line, weights, attention to gravity etc. Think geometric lines and planes for the initial sculpture. you must constantly look for weight in your model.

Must also think of the background, I will texture mine and polish the sculpture to make them stand apart.

I finished modelling at five, nine hours total on the clay. May work a little more on the sphere, will see with fresh eyes.

About 1/2 way through the day.

Organised my ply board for the three reliefs. Will pick up tomorrow.

Managed to scratch the top of the slate so that will need buffing out. But just carried on with the letters.

Managed to got a quarter or a third of the way through the ‘U’ and finished the ‘I’, ‘N’ and ‘O’. (two and a half hours working)

Despite everything work was good, managed to just zone in and focus, trying to just ignore everyone and everything for now. So a productive day even if not a good one.
