Drawing Drapery

Started a two day sustained drapery, spent the morning laying out a composition. Started drawing at around 11:30.

Spent a long time moving and re-moving things on the right hand side.
Drawing at the end of the day, much slower than last week’s.

Lettering – Ted Knight

Started some roughs for small memorial plaque for (red) Ted Knight to hang in his old local in Croydon. Spent around an hour in these three, am yet to hear back from the client about which style they prefer. I plan on doing this on a small oval but we’ll see what they like.

Probably my least favourite, the ‘K’ doesn’t work. Should go back to it really.

Nina mentioned a potter called Julian Stair, he uses people’s ashes to create memorial Urns. I have yet to look into his practice but my initial reaction is not a positive one, reducing (dead) people into commodities. I can’t decide if this is ironic, sad or funny.
