Portrait Modelling
Modelling other’s time begin with, just profiles. Then spent five minutes on the underside of the nose.
Another run in with Liz after I made sure Phil was taking the correct break times, but she wasn’t done modelling.
Moved onto mouth after, learning about the muscles that form the mouth and cheeks. The mouth twists top over bottom at the end. Must always be aware of where all the uneven parts of the mouth are, very important for the character of the portrait.

I then moved onto profiling the cheek. I had left this bare under Kim’s advice until this point so lots of work needed. No longer applying planes in vertical strips but going along the profile of the forms. In any which way they appear. Now when profiling look at where volumes go, apply clay in that direction. The character comes from the cheeks, making this part vital.
Overall a good day of modelling. Probably just due to the fact more of his face is filled in, my modelling is still lacking.

Sadly doesn’t resemble Phil.
