Continued roughing out. Emma said to put flats on and work from these, got both sides in. Stone is hard but is consistent throughout the actual grub. Will be able to start actual cutting soon, tomorrow will draw everything on and get profiles in.

Kim wasn’t happy with the face so I ripped everything off to start again. She also said it’s in the wrong place but I couldn’t see if, hopefully some fresh eyes tomorrow will show my mistakes.

Put background in at right level, will start on actual letters over coming weeks. Hopefully will convince tutors it’s more of a manageable timetable.

Started maquette, working from rough drawings done at the Harry Pollitt school in response to conversation. Yet to be sent any reference photos but it’s good for me to get my head around initial design and structure of piece. Maquette is around a sixteenth scale.
