Phil’s Portrait

Got too caught up with detail in the bottom left area of the chin in the morning. A good start to the day but needed to move onto a different area to make sure the whole piece is evenly worked. Continued around the left hand side of the face, working the cheek and then towards the ear. By the end of the day I decided to move past the ear and onto the rear of the head, trying to get the general shape and size of the skull in so the stone looks more like a portrait. Tomorrow will work the right hand side to the same level and hopefully will have a much more portait looking piece.

Rochester Cathedral Lettering

Got my third drafts done for both pieces, will look over them with fresh eyes and refine letterforms before I go over spacing again on the computer. Struggling with these, shows how far my lettering needs to come.
