Rochester Cathedral Lettering Spent the day doing masonry. Trying to maximise the stone with the chips from splitting. Glad I did the work with Corin before starting this, was very helpful.

Bust of Shakespeare Continued roughing out around points of significance, rather than randomly pointing across the form. Going well apart from a large deposit of very soft stone, almost like sand. I will have to rework this section as it’s gone under where shingle just fell out of the block but luckily it’s the hair…

Portrait of Phil Finished! Spent the day working on the base, adjusting the eyes and using hacksaw blades to create darker shadows in certain areas. Bust of Shakespeare Continued roughing out. Moving faster and learning from mistakes I made on Phil.

Phil’s Portrait Continued with surface finish but mostly working on features. Undercutting and getting the shadows of the mouth ears and nose in. No time for eyes will talk to tutors Monday. Hopefully they’re happen, should be finished next week. Would have been finished if I’d turned up on time.

The Floating One Working on feet for most of the day, happy with general form. Moved back onto drapery by the end of the day but the feet are still out of kilter to the shoulders and head so will have to spend tomorrow correcting this. Luckily everything is still full enough to move. Just.
